Salon Art Installations in a Corporate Office

oct 019
Yes, yes, yes. Another week another salon. This time it’s in an office in Midtown Manhattan. This salon showcases a couple of really great features of salons. One being that you can easily mix what would normally be incongruent works together to form a cohesive whole. This group has class portraits, landscape watercolors, magazine shots and a couple of photo etchings. All of which are in different frames and some in color and others in black and white. But all form a history for the client and when put into a structure (three stacked landscapes on the left and then a justified horizon space across the rest) it works as a single work. Beautifully I should add.

The use of a salon here also maximizes the use of space. This wall would only allow for maybe a fourth of these works in a traditional installation. The key to doing this salon installation is that it is not trying to fit 16 works into a space….rather this is the installation of ONE work that has 16 parts.
