ILevel founder and artist David Kassel premiers his woodblock monoprints at the 2023 Art On Paper Fair held September 7th through 10th at Pier 36 in Manhattan. These never before exhibited prints are selected from the artist’s growing collection of images. Over the past 9 years, David has carved 600+ wood blocks in New York City and hand printed with them in his studio in Ghent, NY.
The prints are images of daydreams, landscapes, stratigraphic forms, body topography, space, and color. Many are inspired by wilderness treks. The vast spaces, big skies, and landscapes laid bare by the passage of time and geological events are often in David’s mind.
