ILevel and The Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse

One of our favorite events of the year is coming up fast: The annual Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse begins on May 12. Not only do we love the chance to see what some of the country’s top designers can create when given a blank slate and carte blanche (especially in the name of giving back!), but we’ve had a long history helping to make these visions come to life and feel a personal connection to the event.

So, we were thrilled when we took a look at this year’s showhouse website and saw one of our installations from last year had made the home page: The dramatic elliptical staircase of the Arthur Sachs Mansion, the site of the 2015 show house, decorated with nearly 300 works of art. The display was dubbed “Stairway to Heaven” and dreamed up by designer Philip Mitchell, and ILevel was lucky enough to have the chance to arrange and hang each piece. The art, most of which came from Philip’s personal collection, was incredibly beautiful and diverse, and included standouts like a Marcel Vertès watercolor along with images of the children from the Kips Bay Boys and Girls club (the benefactor of the event) by Monica Rich Kosann photography.

Here are a few more of our favorite shots of the staircase.
