After the holiday season dies down, things start to pick up in the art and design community in New York City. We’ve listed a few of our favorites, which will hopefully help keep you occupied until it’s spring again.

New York Now. January 30-February 3, 2016, Jacob K. Javits Center. NYNow is one of the largest home decor, art, and design trade shows in the county. It happens twice a year, once in January, and again in August, and attracts vendors, buyers, editors, shop owners, and designers from around the world. This year’s show will again feature a large handmade section as well as a full range of programming from color trend forecasting seminars, to talks about sustainable home design, and more.

Art on Paper. March 3-6, 2016, Pier 36. Coming off of a successful debut event last year that drew more than 20,000 visitors, the Art on Paper fair will again take to NYC’s Lower East Side this year. As the name suggests, exhibitors are some of the largest works-on-paper galleries from around the world, showcasing drawings, paintings, photography, and sculpture made of paper.

SCOPE New York. March 3-6, 2016, Armory Show Piers. If you’re looking for something new and different for your art collection, SCOPE is a great place to look for it. The contemporary art show, now in its 16th year, features works from more than 60 international galleries, with a focus on emerging artists.

ArchDigest Home Show. March 17-20, 2016, Piers 92 and 94. This trade and trend show is on the smaller side, but it’s well-curated list of exhibitors still draws a crowd (including the public, the show is open to all on the last two days). Architects, contractors, and interior designers will love the focus on kitchen and bath products and appliances, as well as the chance to check out the latest from luxury furniture manufacturers and small artisans alike.

DIFFA Dining by DesignMarch 17-20, 2016, Piers 92 and 94. Running in conjunction with the AD Home Show, this annual fundraiser taps celebrity interior designers, fashion designers, creative directors, and more,  to create one-of-a-kind (and often over the top) tablescapes to benefit Design Industries Foundation Fighting Aids. The table are open for all to browse with a ticket to the AD Show.
