Hanging Artwork in the New York City Home of Jessica Chastain

We were fans of actress Jessica Chastain long before we were lucky enough to get to work in her home. But, working in her home made us even bigger fans. In case you haven’t seen the most recent issue of Architectural Digest where her New York City apartment was profiled, it’s absolutely stunning. She worked with interior designers Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller, but informed much of the style direction herself, along with boyfriend and fashion executive Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo.

The home is decorated in classic Upper East Side fashion — most of the furnishings are from Ralph Lauren, giving the historic apartment an elegant,  timeless, aristocratic feel that is even more breathtaking in person. But unexpected twists– a fuchsia chair here, a suede wall covering there–make it anything but stuffy. We felt like this description was just as applicable to Jessica herself: she’s a timeless beauty and accomplished actress, yet still approachable and down-to-earth at the same time.

As for the art we hung on the walls: the couple keeps an interesting collection, a mis of high-end fine art, vintage mirrors, and estate sale pieces/ The mirror above the fireplace in the living room, for example, was from the estate of actress Lauren Bacall, and the Swedish-style mirror in the dining room is vintage. The paintings hung above the tub in the bathroom are by the notable Luxembourg painter Jacques Nestlé.
