Our 5 Favorite Blogger Recaps of High Point Market Fall 2013

Since so many of our clients are interior designers, and design is a large part of what we do, we always like to keep up with the trends in the industry. Which means, each spring and fall, we pay close attention to what happens at High Point Market.

We’ve never been to High Point, but these days, it hardly seems to matter. Because with all of the designers, media and bloggers live-tweeting, posting and instagram-ing about the newest trends from the week, we feel like we have an all-access pass.

Of all of the many blog posts we’ve read this year, though, these are our 5 favorite blogger recaps of High Point Market Fall 2013.

1. StyleBeat blogger Marisa Marcantonio approached what she saw at High Point in a unique way, providing an overview of trends in showroom styling–which often lead to trends in magazine styling and residential interior design. Some of the trends she noted include brass and gold accents, Fig Trees, and contrasting art-and-upholstery colors.

2. Designer Lisa Mende shared her visit to the Madcap Cottage booth on her blog. The men behind Madcap Cottage Interior Design, Jason Oliver Nixon and John Loecke, also sell vintage furniture and a line of pillows (and they also happen to be an ILevel client) that keeps in line with their colorful, eclectic style, so it was great to see what is new from them. Thanks, Lisa!

3. Cozy Stylish Chic created a detailed list , complete with great photos to match, of the 10 top trends seen at High Point, which was one of the most definitive we saw.

4. Design world darling and High Point first-timer Dunes and Duchess posted a ton of photos of their preppy-pretty booth on their blog. It made us feel like we got a behind-the-scenes peek at what goes on at High Point from a vendor standpoint.

5. OK, so this one is not exactly a blog post, but a blog series. Apartment Therapy did a few dozen posts about trends from High Point, covering everything from sofa styles, to chaises, stools and poufs, to individual pieces that caught their collective eye. Great reading for those who want to really get the low-down on this year’s HPMKT.
