Paris Metro Entrances: Why Can’t New York’s be This Nice?

Granted not all Paris Metro entrances have these fantastic covers. But many do and many more have the decorative railings and signs. While in good old NYC, the best we can do is…well I have problems thinking of one that makes me want to visit it (ok Grand Central). The two cities have many similarities but everything is a bit (or a lot) nicer in Paris. Its like NYC had nice things once (Penn Station…cough) but we must destroy, ruin or neglect something until it is relegated to ordinary.
