Congrats on scheduling your art installation! Your art is out of storage, leaning against your walls, stacked up in the corner of the room… now what?
While our team of professional art handlers can manage everything for you, a little preparation goes a long way towards making your installation smooth, efficient, and creative! Here’s what we’ve learned after more than 15,000 installations.
ILevel brings your walls to life. No matter how many pieces you have.
The Starting Point
Don’t worry, you don’t need a comprehensive plan, or a map of your ideal arrangement. Arrangement is something we love to help with. But it helps to have an idea of where you’d like things to go. Grouping pieces by room, or wall, or knowing that a statement piece belongs over a fireplace gives us a foundation to work from.
From there, we can consult, refine, and solve problems together!
One easy thing you can do ahead of time: pull any furniture or clutter away from the walls where art will be hung. Even a few feet makes a difference.
From blue tape to finished wall. A 48-piece grid installation, perfectly spaced.

Before ILevel Arrives
Know Your Wall Materials
Standard drywall? No problem, we’ve got it covered. If your walls are brick, concrete, or tile, please mention that when you schedule. Those materials require different tools and hardware. In particular, brick calls for specific drills and adds some time to the job.
A quick heads-up means we arrive fully prepared to handle your walls and provide the most effective, secure installations possible.
Check Your Building Requirements
Some buildings require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for service providers like us, particularly when special equipment is involved. If you live in a co-op, condo, or apartment building, check with your building management before your appointment. It’s a quick ask that can prevent a last-minute headache.
The Art Itself
We can handle unpacking if needed, though having the pieces out and accessible when our team arrives makes the appointment feel smoother. Pieces buried in closets or stacked five deep slow things down more than you’d think.
A complete gallery wall, perfectly composed.
Be Part of the Process!
Collaborating creatively with our clients is often the best part of our job.
Some of our favorite installations happen when the client is present, engaged, and excited about their art. We’re experts at placement, height, and arrangement. Especially for larger groupings like gallery walls and family photo collections, which can be overwhelming to plan on your own.
When you’re in the room with us, sharing why a piece is meaningful to you and weighing in on the layout, you get to watch your space transform in real time. That moment when everything comes together is something we never get tired of.
And don’t worry! These are all just suggestions. You don’t have to have it all figured out before we walk in the door. We’ll get there together.
Decades of family memories, arranged and installed in a single afternoon.
