Ideas for Decorating Walls in a Nursery

We recently had a chance to collaborate with Sissy and Marley interiors on a room for a tiny client named Oliver. The space? One of the most beautiful, serene, special nurseries we’ve ever seen. We just loved the calming effect of the neutral palette and the whimsical touches the were sprinkled throughout the room.

Here, a few of the things we love most about the walls:

1. The wallpaper. The walls were covered with a muted star-print wallpaper. The scale of the print and the color combination adds pattern and interest to the room without feeling busy or overwhelming, which is important in a nursery.

2. The sophisticated, yet whimsical details. Porthole mirrors may be a big trend in interior design right now, but the fact that they evoke big ships means they’re also playful enough for a child’s room.

3. The art. The pieces chosen for the room were beautifully clean and simple paintings of animals, like the rabbit, below.
