This week marked the launch of one of our favorite design events of the year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House. Not only does the event support a great cause (the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club), but it’s one of the single best places to be inspired by beautiful interior design. Designers from around the country participate in decorating the rooms in the house, and it each year it seems the bar is raised.
Like many years past, ILevel was involved in the show house this year, helping a number of the designers hang the art and pictures in their space. By far the biggest project was installing the staircase gallery wall by Philip Mitchell Design. Dozens of pieces went into creating this perfectly curated collection, and the end result is downright stunning.
While we recommend stopping the show house if you’re in the New York City area, if you can’t make it (or just can’t wait to take a look inside), here’s a peek at the Philip Mitchell’s Torridon Stair Gallery, which appeared this week on Habitually Chic.
The gallery-style display began at the landing at the bottom of the stairs on the second floor…
And wound up through the fourth.
The eclectic collection, which features everything from photography, to sculpture and art from a variety of eras, is primarily borrowed from Mitchell’s own collection.
To see the full gallery, head over to Habitually Chic, or better yet, stop by the show house, which is open through June 11, 2015.
