How do you install large artwork in an office?
By first confirming what the wall is built from and what it can carry, then choosing an anchor rated well above the actual weight. In a commercial office that means locating structure behind drywall, using masonry anchors in concrete, or moving to a suspended system where the wall cannot be drilled. Oversized works are placed by a team, with the path from the freight elevator checked in advance for door widths and corners. Wherever possible the largest pieces go in before a floor is occupied. We always follow standard conservation handling practices.
How do you install artwork across multiple floors?
As one coordinated project rather than a series of separate visits. A single sightline height is set at the start and carried through every floor so the work reads consistently across the building, and the same hardware is used throughout to keep future changes straightforward. Scheduling is built around elevator availability, badging and escort requirements, secure floors, and which departments are occupied when. Most multi-floor work happens in phases, floor by floor or simultaneously.
Do you need building approval to install artwork in an office?
In most New York commercial buildings, yes. Management usually requires a certificate of insurance naming the building and the tenant before work begins. Leases can also restrict what may be attached to glass, demountable partitions, and landlord finished millwork.
